Is the GOP cutting their own throat?

By trying to limit the voting rights of students don't you think this will just cause them to mobilize and be even more willing to make it to the poles and vote? Which would of course be a bad thing for the GOP because historically college students vote Democrat.

Update:

So, according to CSA there are no college educated members of the GOP?

There's a difference in taking away the vote and removing the ability to vote twice.

Since there was no stipulation in the US Constitution concerning an age requirement for eligibility to vote prior to July 1, 1971...all the States were free to set an age of eligibility as low as they wanted.

Prior to the 26th Amendment, only 4 states allowed people under 21 years of age to vote; Georgia (18), Kentucky (18), Alaska (19) and Hawaii (20). The Amendment was ratified by the States as they believed that with the existence of the Military Draft, it was immoral to force young men to fight and die and not give them a voice in the process of government when there very life may be involuntarily put at risk by that government.

There was nothing in the Constitution preventing states from changing their state laws on voting so if a state wanted to, it could.

There was no need for an Amendment.

We have no "draft", the government cannot force you to join the military, fight and possibly die.

The Amendment has served its purpose and needs to be repealed so states are once again free to determine their own laws on minimum age to vote.

Tell the truth, if a "free college education" were on the ballot, you' would vote for it..right?

    Need I say more?

Historically college kids don't vote in large numbers besides how does ending same day registration and voting have anything to do with limiting college kids right to vote.
