During the last ice age - which was the Plesticone Ice age about 8 to 10 thousand years ago, permanent ice covered much of the Globe from the states of Nebraska to Pennsylvania on upwards northward.
The Great Lakes were made due to this.
The weather was much different than it is now. Temperatures during the winter were much colder by as much as 30 degrees, and summer temperatures were 20 degrees colder.
The weather was completly different. Think of the South changing places with Minnesota. That is about how the weather was like. Although keep in mind that we as scients can only assume, we do not know for sure the exact temperatures.
By the way, the person who posted a verse to the bible is an idiot. As a scientist, I can assure you that, unlike his statement, the world was NOT created by a "Christian God" 4,000 years ago.
