How often do tattoos need to be retouched?

I'm hoping to get one at the end of the year on my ankle saying something meaningful which i have yet to discover! I'm just wondering do tatts fade fast if you go to the beach often and how often would you need to get it retouched?

Every seven years or so, if you spend a lot of time in the sun. The sun is a tattoos worst enemy. If your weight doesn't fluctuate a lot, it helps. Reline and recolor every seven to ten years, or as needed. It keeps your ink looking sharp and fresh.

Depending on how reliable the artist is, some only need to be retouched every ten, but others every 3-5.

well at first you have to put this stuff on it but it really depends on how much the tattoo starts fading away it could be 20 years before you need a retouch my dadhasn't had retouches since he go his done before i was born so just over 16 years ago the tattoo wont diapear it just wont look as nice but you could ask the tatooist the average amount of time before it needs retouching.

I've had a tattoo for 9 years now and it's only recently that I had it touched

up and that was cos i was having it extended, the sun is the worst thing for fading tattoos and I worship the sun and sunbeds and mine stayed nice for a long time.

Use a good sun block block if u do sun bathe or hit the sunbeds and your tattoo should stay nice for a fair few years. Hope this helps :0)

The sun will be the main cause of fading. You get it retouched whenever you want.

I use Rocco's Old School to keep my tattoos looking fresh and new. All natural.
