Mtg question is there anything you can do?

ok let's say that I have aether flash, death pits of wrath, and dovescape out, is there anything an opponent can do? Does putting humility on the field make a difference to what my opponents can do?

    There is lots of stuff an opponent could do:

    * Play land.

    * Activate abilities.

    * Cast indestructible creatures.

    * Cast spells that can't be countered.

    not much they can do, besides play land, but they could if they had the mana play a sorcery or instant, let it be countered by dovescape and then play a counter to dovescape, thus the stack would resolve with dovescape in the middle instead of on top, that or if something that cant be countered is played that would destroy any part of that combo most specifically aether flash or dovescape you'd still get your tokens and can block like hell, but odds are if they're going to destroy any part of your combo they'll destroy all of it. humility though not necessary is a good backup plan IF they break through. but beware of other blue/white control concepts. they drop cancel and dovescape counters it they drop another cancel in response, waste of two cancel yes, but it kills dovescape effectively and if theyve been playing land well... yeh... they probably have alot of mana to play and alot of hand power.
