Can YA answers please install a UK spell check for the UK and Europe?

I am getting more and more annoyed that my spelling of my language is constantly being corrected to the USA sub-form, as a site that claims to be worldwide it should be noted that the UK and particularly the English contributors should not have to be insulted this way.

The forcing of US anti-english on the rest of the world should not be continued by various IT companies and their internet co-conspirators. Campaign for real English on YA, not its various sub-forms.

Update:

Riki- It is not a case of sweating on the small stuff, it is a case of trying, as the originators of the language to hold onto our language, the real issue here is that as an educator I am now constantly battling up hill against text speak, various non-English dialects and USA spellings, the onslaught on our language is coming from all sides, soon we will actually get to the point that literacy for a whole generation of UK people is beyond redemption.

Mejaki- I concur, although I have been a net user for many years, and I do not think I would have made such a basic mistake, although it is possible, that said if the default language of the internet is English, that should be UK English not the sub-form, and so the USA should have to use correct English on the net, I would guess that would not be popular as the US seems to take the attitude that as the bully in the playground what it wants it should get.

Earthling- Given you the best answer- I must admit I had not thought to put up suc

As an American, I agree. Try going to "More Community Guidelines"on the right of your activity page. From there, click on "Suggestion Board" and then post your suggestion there. Let me know if you do and I will give a thumbs up and post a comment in favor. Also, but this will only work for you, I believe. If you see a "misspelling", you can "Add to dictionary".

    Colour

I just typed in "Colour" and it offered the American spelling. So I added it and now it doesn't offer a "correction". I'm sure you want more than this though

You may have signed up on the US site, which is why it keeps trying to "correct" your spelling to the American version. I'm in Canada, we use the British spellings, and that's what the default setting is for the YA spell checker here.
