Was Mike Starr's death a surprise?

I'm not trying to be insensitive but he was one of the most badly addicted in Celebrity Rehab. He went on to Sober House but he didn't seem to be doing well there either, at least emotionally. If he wasn't on those shows, being paid for his participation do you think he'd be dead today? Were you surprised by his death?

I really like how Ali put it.... It was a huge likelihood that he would die, and probably sooner than later if he kept using, but on the same token, hearing about it did come as a shock somewhat, because even if we knew it was likely, no one could put an actual time and day on it until it happened. The shock didn't last long... but it shattered me to the bone.

No I was not surprised. just prior to his death you know he was arrested for illegal possession of some kind of Opiate pills and Xanax. after this made news his roommate claimed that he was taking those and mixing them with his methadone treatments just days before his death. a friend of mine that had been following his case from CR told me about this and then boom he was dead. so I was not surprised at all, I don't think OD or drug poisoning as been officially announced as cause of death but it sure looks that way, probably a controlled substance pharmaceutical cocktail. but I am not sure as of now.

for about 10 seconds. As you said he was a really really bad drug addict so I sorta expected this to come soon. I think he would still be dead even without those shows.

I was shocked for the same reason I was when people close to me died from diseases that I knew they had...because one second their here and the next their gone for ever and that's a hard pill to swallow

Yes and no. I was rooting for him to clean up, but he had a major drug problem. On the side not, I was kind of sad that he had succumbed to his disease.

With his past drug problems, i'd say no, no suprise.
