Why do old stories keep being recycled as 'new'? Zombie ants, etc...?
I've noticed this with many other topics, too. Like "New studies indicate not all fat is bad!!" (I see this one every year, at least), and "Zombie ants" were on TV years ago!
Ha! I meant News stories/ research, but I know what you mean... I once thought up this AWESOME scifi story where humans are at war with genetically engineered rivals...I even called it the 'Eugenics Wars', but, to my dismay, Star Trek had already done that!! (Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan) Hilarious.

because there just aren't an infinite number of new ideas in fiction. eventually, everything gets reused.
try it yourself. take an old shakespeare play, and substitute modern characters and settings. see if anyone notices
