What are some good references that describe the Viet/American war.?
As a regular contributor to this site, I often reference the the official USMC history. However, I'm a former Marine, there might be a bias to my thoughts. As the anniversery of the Tet Offensive (68) approaches, how do we guide the multitude of high school kids (American and Viet) who will be seeking honest information? Any thoughts for a fair and balanced narrative???
Just an additional thought,,,history is a lie if it's not the truth.

Two books by the late Lt. Gen. Philip Davidson, former Chief of Army Intelligence in Vietnam (under both Westmoreland and Abrams): The 1988 tome " Vietnam at War: The History 1946-1975", (ISBN 0195067924) which is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive accounts of the Indochina wars. Davidson followed it up in 1990 with "Secrets of the Vietnam War" (ISBN 0891413820), where he described his experiences in Vietnam.
