So is it ironic that Pete King is a terrorist supporter himself...?

How, exactly, is the IRA different from al-Qaeda?

It is both ironic and morally repugnant. King has been a lifelong supporter of terrorism, helping to funnel money and munitions to the bloody IRA for decades. I view this hateful man with utter contempt and find it outrageous that he is in such a position of power. His blood-soaked hands will never be clean. King should be rotting in prison for his criminal activities in support of terrorism, NOT hypocritically judging others for doing no worse (and in most cases, much less) than what he is guilty of.

This makes a natural segue to your follow-up question. There is ZERO difference between the IRA and al-Qaeda. Each is an evil terrorist organization willing to commit murder and mayhem in support of its cause. Both use cowardly tactics like planting bombs on planes, buses and trains or in hotels, restaurants and pubs to maximize civilian casualties. Shooting innocent and unarmed civilians comes as naturally to Irish "freedom fighters" as to their Muslim counterparts. I despise them equally as I do anyone who could even countenance supporting such evil.

One final note. One poster here defended the IRA by mentioning that they didn't attack the U.S., while another had the gall to cite 9/11 while actually arguing in favour of the villains. My God, if the horror of 9/11 taught us anything at all it was that terrorism in any form, whatever the so-called justification, is pernicious and wrong. No amount of dubious rationalization and embarrassingly outdated rhetoric will change that fact. In short, if you support terrorism in any form and for any reason, you are yourself a terrorist.

Thank you for posting this timely and important question.

Bullets and bombs kill regardless of who is using them and the cause they support. A terrorist is a terrorist no matter what the cause. Democracy is the way to make change, not blowing up women and children

King is a hypocrite like the poster above....

To answer your first question: no, it is not ironic. Look up the definition of "irony". To answer your second question, the IRA was an independence movement in Northern Ireland. al-Qaeda is a radical Islamist movement dedicated, among other things, to bringing forth the next caliphate. To do this, it has attacked the United States on 9/11 and killed over 3000 people. As far as King is concerned, he is credited with playing a role in peace talks that brought together members of Sinn Fein -- the IRA's political wing -- Protestant political leaders, British government officials and representatives of the independent Republic of Ireland. It is interesting that you never acknowledged King's efforts to resolve a conflict, instead, using your question as a political weapon. As the union thugs in Wisconsin would say: "Shame, shame, shame!"

No, everyone has a side. That's the problem with political correctness -- white people believe they're not supposed to have a side. Every other race/culture does.
