Help!! My patio is boring!?

I watch the design shows but they never have a basic suburban backyard where the patio is against the back of the house and is covered by a patio roof. Mine is 30"x12" We've put in recessed lights and three ceiling fans. There is a round table and 4 chairs at one end and a love seat, two chairs, two end tables and a coffee table at the other end. There are two bedroom windows on the patio wall as well as a bathroom door between them and an 8ft glass sliding door. It just looks like a patio full of stuff to me! Help! How can I make it more inviting???

first thing i thought of is adding outdoor curtains to the posts to soften the look. get rid of some of that furniture out there. sounds like your trying to have a kitchen and living room all out there. make a decision and use one or the other. table and chairs ok keep that . the couch keep that .. coffee table o k . get rid of the end tables. oh you have two seats as well. maybe you can divide the "outdoor rooms" into two separate rooms with a sheer curtain as well. curtains do wonders look at this link maybe you can get ideas there too

It sounds like you could use some potted plants and maybe a lattice with a clematis or similar climbing, flowering plant. Perhaps a statuary in a corner. Window boxes are nice if they get some sun and hanging baskets add a nice touch too.

Add a natural stone outdoor fireplace and a natural stone floor.
