What happened to my hair?

I used to have stick straight hair when I was little, but then when I turned twelve, it started to get randomly poofy. Now half of my hair is straight, and half of it is curly and wavy. And whenever I finish washing my hair, it poofs up and is so gross and disgusting. What happened to it? Is it damaged or did puberty just change it? Is it possible to only have HALF curly hair?

I'm asian btw, if that helps.

Thank you for your answers (:

most likely it's from puberty. because your hormones change in your body and hair.
