Open call casting for Evita?
So.. as you might have heard, Evita will be making a comeback! It's going to be revived on Broadway, starring Ricky Martin as Che Guevara..
I was wondering if anyone had information about casting for the ensemble, whether you knew who the casting agents were, or where they could be reached, or even where/when they could be.

Just Che, the character, not Che Guevara... that's not who that is in the show.
Casting is being done by Bernard Tesley, but the Equity Chorus call to cast the show was held Feb 3rd, 2011 - you've missed it. I'm sure they're not done yet but they've already gone through the initial rounds. Sorry!
In the future consult Backstage.com or Playbill.com well in advance. If it makes you feel any better, it was an Equity only call so if you aren't Equity they wouldn't have seen you anyhow.

Mol is right - but it's the same for virtually every show, play, TV show or movie - you can't just ask to join an agency for one casting. Agents are very selective in who they represent, and they only pass on details to existing clients. Agents normally take on only professionally-trained and experienced actors.
