Is redneck synonymous with the dreaded N word?
In the use of both words there are derogatory and amiable meanings. In both words you find that when one says it to the other it is called hate. When one says it to one in the same it is a term of endearment. Some are even proud of it, on both sides. I understand the history behind both, and most of you don't, I have heard plenty with completely wrong versions. So tell me then if you were trying to explain these terms to someone from another world would you simply have to say one is for whites, and one is for blacks? Is there a better answer to this?

Fearing a derogatory term only gives it power. The only reason the N word is still so offensive is because the very ones who use it constantly at the same time fear others using it. Those who are offended by nothing, however, are somehow supposed to feel guilt-ridden.

Very insightful Question.
Yes. They are the same.
Elite Liberals started calling Outdoor Workers "Rednecks", years ago.
It was a term of ridicule against men who worked in the sun, and had sunburned necks.
And it wasn't just in the South---- it was across the Nation.

Saying it's racist to call out white rednecks is like saying it's racist to call out black gang bangers.

Rednecks are often racists. So, no. That would be quite contradictory.
