Fantasy Trade: Haren for Stanton?
This one is tough. Haren is rank 89 and Mike Stanton is rank 85, so from a ranking standpoint, it's even.
Clearly, I have better pitching than hitting, but Haren 2 seasons ago was a top 15 player. Stanton could be a top 40 player given a full season, but could also bust.
My team:
C - Suzuki
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Aaron Hill
3B - Ryan Zimmerman
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - Jason Heyward
OF - Vernon Wells
OF - Carlos Quentin
Util - Ike Davis
Util - Adam LaRoche
Bench: Starlin Castro, Jason Kubel
Pitchers:
SP - Lincecum, Ubaldo Jimenez, Hamels, Haren, Billingsley, Zimmerman, Anibal Sanchez, Hellickson
RP - Kimbrel, Axford, Farnsworth

I find more deficiencies in your lineup at Util and RP than at OF, and I honestly don't think the guy with Stanton would bite on that one - he is hyped up, and right now it's all hype - so you probably couldn't get him, and you might not want him once you do! It's potentially a lose/lose...
But you are correct - your SP is good and deep - I'd probably be very content to run that staff even without Haren, so he is definitely expendable - even for somebody who isn't a "lock," and Stanton fits that bill!
Thought about Markakis? or even Vlad? Those Birds might fly...and they're ranked a little higher, so you might be able to maximize their under-ranking...

Lets look at it from the point of view of team needs and what's expendable.
Your OF depth is pitiful for what most 10-12 team leagues can put together. Wells? Quentin? Kubel? All of these are shots in the dark and really crap shoots at OF and you could benefit from some protection for your lineup to succeed throughout the full MLB season. You do have a good rotation, but I wouldn't exactly call Haren expendable, Hamels has experienced ups and downs in his short albiet successful career and after him there's Zimmerman, Anibal who are both waiver wire guys on any given week. I like to have more protection in my rotation than that and keeping Haren fits that bill. There are always great OF 25+HR waiver wire pickups, but not bonafide aces. Keep Haren for now, but be active on the wire in your league and find other ways to improve your OF/UTIL depth.
Hope this Helped, Good Luck!

Honestly, I would look at it this way. Would your team benefit more from 30+ hr's and 90 rbi's (with a .260 average) or 15 wins and 200+ K's with a decent ERA and WHIP?
I would look more at the waiver wires and do more research. There are always breakout players.
Haren is solid and Stanton, though I love the potential - is basically a rookie. People will learn to pitch to him and he will go through tough stretches. Haren is in a potent lineup playing in the AL West. He will give you the stats.
