WWhat is the point in life?

In our lives, we are born, can't do anything for a couple of years, get to goof off for three more, then get packed off to school where we end up spending most of the day sitting at desks and listening yo (often really boring) teachers. During the thirteen years we spend in normal school, we get progressively less time to do what we feel like and more time to finish onerous papers and other assignments that the teachers give us. After High School, it seems like a functional, sane society would give us a little bit of a break, but instead we get sent to a college to study for for several more years. And even then, after we have pretty much devoted thirteen of the best years of our lives being indoctrinated with whatever society feels we should be taught (if not even more), there is no break. We either get a job or die/live in a constant state of walking death. During said job, we have to obey bosses who are sometimes cruel, contrary or stuck up or we get fired and have to start over in another job. That generally means that we get the oh so incredible priviledge of sitting in an office, staring at screens, and kissing the boss' boots.

Basically what I'm getting at is that we only really get three years of freedom before the age of 50-60 and then get maybe another ten to twenty years that we remember, but that we can't do most things in because we are old and often starting to break down. After 80 a lot of people get Alzhiemers so nothing after that really counts. So, really, we only get 3 years to have fun before we are expected to take up the burden of the rest of a world that is quickly being destroyed around us. Given this, what's the point of it all, because in return for 40 years of work ee get three years at the very beginning when we can't even understand how messed up everything is?

    Yours ... or mine?

As you describe things, I can't see a point to yours.

You make a great point. I had this epiphany when I was turning 16. I had left high school a whole two years early to go to junior college and my dad paid the rent for me to have my own apartment. I was supposed to have my masters by age 20 but I went a little sideways...drugs, alcohol, boys, skipping classes and ended up going into the military for some reason at 18. I got out because I wass too free a spirit and waited tables at two places, also taking classes at two colleges. I still fond time to go to parties and have a boyfriend and do artwork and connect with my inner self. I did that for 5 years and then later became a stripper and have never been happier. I make plenty of money to save for somehing else and I can be free and travel. Or spend all day at home if I wish. Not everyone follows the pattern you mention only a boring person would because if they wanted a path less traveled it is right there for the taking. I could have had the life you speak of but it is not for me :)

I know where you a coming from.

In modern day America you are fed values through various forms of mass marketing and hungry corporations bent on mass consumerism and keeping you under control. You have to realize though it is all a game. You only live like you mentioned by choice. In order to live with self harmony and happiness you need to rid yourself of your comforts that you THINK you need. Ex...The best car, expensive food, big television, Internet....The list goes on and on and on...If you don't have other mouths to feed just give up. You will never know true freedom until you have sunk lower than you can possibly imagine. Once that happens you will realize that you can do anything you want at any time. I am not joking.

The point of life in my opinion is figuring out what makes you fulfilled. Not just some shitty job where you think you are fulfilled. I am talking about something that you would die for and would end up hungry for multiple days about. I think the other point of life is to become aware of everything around you and to enlighten yourself to a point where you can look past humanities bs and spread happiness, friendship, and empathy towards others.

People are so backwards these days and are scared into jobs just because of "fear"

bottom line.....Do what you wanna do.

Definition of life: the circumstance that distinguishes organisms from inorganic gadgets and lifeless organisms, being manifested by utilising improve with the aid of metabolism, reproduction, and the capability of type to ecosystem with the aid of differences originating internally. How is an unborn toddler no longer alive then? they have their very own heartbeat, they have their very own blood type, their very own DNA, their very own fingerprints, their very own features. they're thoroughly distinctive entities from their mothers. And relating to the Hitler concern, it is is the dumbest argument ever. What in case you have been aborted, what if Gandhi have been aborted, what if Martin Luther King Jr. have been aborted, what if mom Teresa have been aborted? you need to spout each undesirable guy or woman you are able to think of of and that i'm able to spout off each good one and it would practice no longer something. you are able to no longer tell what a guy or woman will do with their lives earlier their born. See, thoroughly irrelevant. Now then. in case you would be so type to examine the waiting checklist to undertake a US toddler you will possibly see which you need to attend approximately 7-10yrs on familiar. ask your self why a good number of human beings undertake little ones out of usa? nicely, it somewhat is because of the fact there are none right here. So the answer on your question: enable the folk that have been waiting a decade to get a splash one have the single you % to be stabbed interior the decrease back of the pinnacle and sucked out of their mom with a tube.

if you feel as if there is no point to living try going and helping people, try experimenting with what you find fun. my answer would be, the point of life is to enjoy yourself as best you can. if you think about the end or the outcome its only going to bring you down. sure our society may seem like a system but after you get out of school in your free time you can do whatever you want.

Ha - that's a trick question if I've ever seen one! Get this - the point in life is to DIE. Or to live. Depends on how you look at it. I lean more towards the DIE part though, because in theory, the only reason we're ever alive is to die. Everyone dies. Everyone lives. The two things every human in the universe has in common are the points to life: to DIE and to LIVE. Food for thought. =)

The facts behind your question are invalid. There is plenty of time for both work and play in your adult hood. Children, between the ages of 3 and 25 or so... for instance, have plenty of time for fun. Adults with jobs have plenty of fun.

Nobody says you have to work either, you just have to find a way to provide for yourself.

Also, you assume that you have to work for someone. That is certainly not true. You could own your own business.

You also assume that work can't be enjoyable. A lot of people do things that are often gratifying, and they get paid to do them. Life is what you make of it, not what it makes of you, unless you choose to let it lead you around instead of you leading yourself to what you want.

with all do respect, i am a nice person and help out ppl here all the time but you seem to be a very negative person, you seem to be looking at things very opposite of what you should be doin.

you have to learn how to be positive so you can have a different outlook on life.

being more positive will help you in every way you can imagine, try it nothing to loose, lots to gain.

Life is not totally about fun buddy! It is a mixture of ALL the good and bad. Education, career and family is what we must go through. Be real! Enjoy what you have and try to encounter the issue that you may face. That is how we get mature and wiser. If you think deep what I wrote.

There are many, many points in life, it all depends on your point of view...your perspective. Your perspective, which is your point of view, changes from moment to moment, from every stage of your life, from young to old, happy and sad and so on. So you can imagine, It's like a reflection in a mirror that goes to infinity. When you realize this, you realize that life is truly meaningless and it is us, who continue to try to put meaning into it...once knowing this, I think, it can set us free because otherwise, we waist time, trying to make it mean something. So it's only when we realize there that there is no point in life, that we can actually enjoy it.
