Need help training my mini daschund. help please.?

Ok he is almost 5 months and has been in potty training for about 4 and a half. He is pretty good about peeing only outside now but goes in the house now and then still. Pooping is another story, he is still struggling with that. Now I realize these dogs are stubborn but I need advice!I try to take him out once a hour if possible(eg. not at work or something). He will usually pee but that's it, then go inside and poop 5 minutes later! If he does I usually stick him in his kennel for a bit. Is that right? should I put him in there or out in the back? and for how long? Also I still have to go out with him to make sure he goes. SHould I stop or keep going till it gets better? We also have 2 other dogs for him to kinda watch and I try to let him out with them but if I do he usually just wants to play and doesn't go potty. Help please any advice appreciated.

If you catch him pooping in the house, then pick him up (or grab his leash) and immediately take him outside. You can say "outside!" in a happy voice to get his attention and hopefully stop him so that you can get to him in time.

If you find poop but didn't catch him in the act then THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO. You have missed the training moment.

The key to potty training is to supervise your dog so that you can catch them before they go. Also, most dogs will usually have to go at the same time very day (if you are feeding them once at breakfast and once at lunch). Often, a walk or some play outside can get things moving and cause them to have to go. Use this to your advantage so that they will go outside and you can give lots of rewards!

If you can't supervise him then he should be in his crate. Keep him on a leash which is attached to you if you are busy around the house.

I would keep going out with him to make sure he goes for some time. Often, you might want to keep your dog on a leash (even if you have a fenced yard) when you go out with them so that they can learn that it isn't the time to sniff around or play (until after they go).

He isn't stubborn, he doesn't know what he is supposed to do. When you put him put him in his kennel for punishment he has no idea what he did wrong. Even if he did connect it with the poop, he would just think that you don't like poop and not want to go in front of you. This is not something you want to happen!

for puppies, sometimes they can't fully relieve themselves the first time. try staying outside with him a little longer, or until her goes. make sure that you walk him out about ten min. after he eats, and quickly letting him out every hour is a good idea too. put him on a strict schedule. he should eat and be let out and go for walks at the same time every day. then he will get used to how long he has to hold it in. also, dogs don't know what a time out is, so if putting him in the crate is meant to be a punishment, it isn't doing anything at all.

I suggest having your dog sleep in his crate. It may seem cruel, or mean because he could start yelping for you in the middle of the night, but this works. Dogs never relieve themselves in the place they sleep, so by crating him, you can keep him in there and he won't relieve himself until you let him out to the backyard. Once you do this on a more scheduled and disciplined act, you will be able to see that this will really help for potty training your dog.

Uggg, this was once tough for me, nevertheless it labored! Keep your dog in a crate or small vented subject (instance: toilet with child gate, now not with a close door) while you're now not at house. And whilst you Are house. Keep your dog on a leash proper beside you ALL of the time. That method your dog will be trained to not tear matters up, pee at the ground, and consider relaxed. I paid $800.00 (good spent) for four hours to a official teacher to uncover this out, nevertheless it labored ideal!!! I was once surprised. You can have a superbly good behaved HAPPY doggie :) It may be very tough to do it, however as soon as it's over...it's incredible and also you not ever have got to fear. I want I had identified this with my first two Doxie's. the barking will give up, the peeing will give up, you'll be able to even stroll her with out a leash and she is going to keep proper beside you and forget about different humans round. I are aware of it sounds loopy, however it's precise! Good Luck to you and your candy child lady!
