the hub caps are getting little brown spots in between how can i fix this and how can i prevent it

Your escalade doesn't have any hubcaps. Sounds like you're talking about the center caps on your wheels. They clean nicely with acid like they use at most detail shops. You can use extra fine steel wool as well if you're careful. Too much scrubbing can take away the shine. Vaseline will help to protect them from corroding but basiclly corroding is what metal does in the winter time when there's so much salt on the road and wet conditions.

water got under them and oxidized the metal underneath, acid wash it, you'll be fine
