VGA cable between 2 computers?

Hi, I own 2 computers. 1(old) runs win vista (screen not working so can't control it) and the second runs win7(new). I want to connect them with a vga cable to view the old vista computer on the new win7 computer.

My question is..when I connect them, will the new win7 computer prompt me to do something(view the other connected computer) or just do nothing?

Any advice or recommendations much appreciated. Thanks in advance:)

No, that will not work. VGA is a one way connection only from the PC to the monitor. Best bet is to buy a cheap pci video card to make the old pc useful again.

the OS has nothing to do with the hardware input/output except drivers.

if you put the old hard drive in a USB drive bay you could most likely select a USB drive to boot to. but you would also have to install the new drivers for your new laptop into that drive and it is not easy since you should unstall hardware softwaer before doing this transfer.
