5 month old eating changes - HELP!?
Hi,
So my 5 month old son has recently stopped wanting to drink out of his bottle. Whenever I offer him a bottle he drinks maybe AT MOST 2oz and then refuses to drink anymore. He has recently started solids (cereal so far only and today he tried banana) and he eats his cereal with no problem!
So I have a couple questions:
1. Is it possible that teething is causing him to stop wanting his bottle? Is there a way to make him go back to drinking 6oz like normal?
2. Is there someway that I can make sure he is getting his nutritional value? I have made sure that his cereal is always made with formula but is there anything else?
3. He makes all his wet diapers and everything so I know he is doing okay in that aspect but will he be okay if this continues?
I'm a first-time mom so I'm just looking for advice from people with experience.
BQ: My son was sleeping thorugh the night with no problems but ever since he started rejecting the bottle he wakes up for at least 1 feeding through the night. This bottle and his bottle before bed go down with no problem! HELP!

I love how the only decent answer had a thumbs down. Lehane is right :) Just mix his formula into the ceral so you know he's getting enough. He is also old enough to start adding more than just ceral into his diet. Stage 1 veggies and fruits can be eaten...yogurt by 6 months. But remember 3 days on each new food. So you know if an allergy arises!!! With Michelle I put the strawberry ceral (after trying for a few days) into the bottle just enough to add taste then before feeding I squirted it into her mouth. When she realized it was yumminess she'd chug the whole thing....At 5-6 months a baby's taste buds do wonders of changes and not all babies like their formula. I definately wouldnt eat it LOL

Maybe he is tired of the nipple. Give him a sippy cup and see if he likes that better.

try him with a tippy cup - maybe he just has had enough of the bottle :)
