CHILD CAR SEAT LIMITS?

GRANDSON IS NOW 4..LONG LEGGED...HOW LONG BEFORE HE CAN JUST RIDE WITH A SEATBELT ON..AND IN FRONT OR REAR SEAT PLEASE???

    He should be in a booster seat at the very least, if not harnessed in a car seat that goes to 65 -100 pounds. We have a Evenflo Generation booster for our grandson, age 4. He is still in the harness. The oldest girl, age 7, just fits still in this seat with harness. If you need to go cheap, get a booster seat with a back for him. or a backless booster with an adjuster for the seat belt. I hate to sound dire. But I teach preschool. In the 15 years teaching, I had two kids in two separate incidents, killed in car accidents. If these lil ones were in a correct car seat (booster for one, the other needed a harnessed seat), these kids would be here today. Pushing them early into a seat belt just increases the risk of injury or death. In fact, here in Georgia, boosters must be used to age 8. Research they published here, says half of car accident deaths for kids 6-8 could have been prevented if the child was in a booster. And backseat to age 12!

    You have to be 12 to travel without a seat or over 5ft

    ever kid is different but i think law says under 5 foot needs a booster sit.

    I think its up to the kids behavior. but always in the BACK SEAT
