Why is my GH and KH levels so high?

Ok have just done water test with the following results:

Ammonia 0

Nitrite 0

Nitrate 5

PH 7.2

GH 120

KH 130

Im guessing my tap water is really hard and am going to test that as well to see if they match closely to my tank water.

Do i need to worry about the GH and KH being so high and how do i reduce these levels?

I also did a 25% water change yesterday.

Because that is how your water is. It is not a big deal. My levels are even higher then yours and it does not prevent me from successfully keeping my fish.

Don't worry about the water parameters, stability is what is important. A high KH is actually a very good thing, because a high KH means a stable pH.

I don't waste my time measuring all these levels, unless I move. I know what they are now and that suits me fine. The fish, I know from experience, are not picky.
