Where - in England?
I haven't been able to find an actual price. In Liza Picard's book, "Restoration London", which covers the mid-late 1600s, a pair of carriage horses would set you back £50. It would depend on the type of horse you were buying; a general riding horse, or hack, would be less expensive than a hunter, or perhaps a couple of perfectly matched coach horses. A race horse would probably be the most expensive; Charles II had popularised the sport in England.
