Why Aren't The Churches Teaching How important Fasting & Praying is? No wonder my Prayers aren't answered!!!!?

If God’s people could for one moment realize what a tremendous thing this fasting truth is, there would be thousands more who would fast. As a result, we would see major miracles performed, and a great NATIONAL REVIVAL. The dead would arise, demons would be cast out, thousands of incurable diseases healed, all in the name of Jesus. Will we do your part? 
There was a man who started a consecration fast. He partook of no food during the entire fast of fourteen days. Water was taken for the purpose of cleaning out the system. He was a heavy smoker, and it seemed impossible to give it up, but on the third day of the fast he had no further desire for smoking. On the fourth day of the fast, hunger left him en­tirely. A little later all weakness left; and to his surprise he began feeling better and stronger day by day. He could pray more earnestly, and with greater results. Several days later, he received the glorious baptism of the Holy Ghost. He kept busy with his work which was not heavy. The fasting did not bother him much. Fasting is true, in our new spiritual consciousness our eyes are opened to discern the true nature of our former natural environment and it worked out just that way in his life!!!! It was a glorious experience!!!!!!!!!!
When he began the fast, he weighed one hundred and forty pounds. This was twenty-nine pounds underweight. At the conclusion of the fast, fourteen days later, he had lost sixteen pounds, for he weighed a hundred and twenty-four pounds. Sixty days later he had not only regained the lost weight, but also gained twenty-nine pounds more, which was exactly what a man of his age should weigh, to the pound, that is, one hundred and sixty-nine pounds.

Everyone told him that he looked better than they had ever seen him look, and he said he felt better than he has felt for twenty years. All of his nervousness was gone, and he had a better complexion, and best of all, he had received the Holy Ghost, and has a much deeper relationship with the Lord.

1) After the fast ends there is a major spiritual awakening.
2) Fasting is anti-carnal.
3) Fasting takes one into an un­seen spiritual realm, sometimes into visions.
4)Fasting will undo the natural. It brings us into the supernatural.
5)Fasting pleases the Lord.
After Jesus received the Holy Spirit, although He was the Son of God yet He did not begin to manifest His Sonship until after He had fasted forty days. As children of God we will need to follow Jesus in fasting and prayer, if we expect to manifest spiritual life and power, as did our Lord.
Now, I understand why Moses, David, Esther, Daniel and others fasted!!! I also understand why the disciples couldn't help this mans son!!! Jesus answered them saying, “This kind cometh out by prayer and fasting.” Our Lord teaches here the big difference between prayer alone, and prayer, combined with fasting!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW I needed to share this information with anyone who's prayers has not been answered. As for the first part of your very long question or statement  Why aren't churches teaching how important fasting and praying is? I cannot answer that. There are a lot of things that the church will not teach and fasting seems to be one of them. Fasting does have many health and spiritual benefits, and Christians should try it. Don't be to concerned about what the church isn't teaching because most churches fail to properly teach the word of God, as long as you stick with the word of God and follow Jesus that's what counts. So if you choose to fast, go for it. Your faith is between you and Jesus.

I know fasting is very important, but sometimes is a very personal thing between the person & God.
fast if you feel you are strong enough spiritually to do it - if you are not, your fast will fail & it will end up being miserable.  ( I am pretty sure I read this, but I cannot find the exact scripture...maybe I heard it in a sermon? gah.. )
Try reading Mark 2:18-20, Matthew 6:16-18, Isaiah 58:4-18, Matthew 17:21.
Of course these are just my point, but fasting is very very good & it should be taught more.

There is much truth to what you said.  Come to think of it, I almost never hear preachers encouraging fasting.  Prayer yes, fasting or fasting with prayer no.

 We are called into "Obedience through faith" Walk then in the obedience to that faith in the grace of  Jesus. Through the spirit of the living God. For the spirit knows the mind of God, and speaks his desire for you into your conscience and renews your mind..  "First submit to God and then resist the Devil and he will flee from you".  But with out obedience your authority will not be account to you from Christ ,and the prayer will not ascend, For your Obediance is your answer to hin that you are acting in your faith. For faith with out acts is dead, Then fast the fast that Jesus asked us to fast, Put away malice and envy and strife God does not want your fast of wanting. The fast to gain for your self,  your fast of hatred, and unkindness. He will not grant.  “Narrow is the road to Life and few there be that find it”.  Fasting is good if your cup is clean from the inside, But if you fast for wicked worldly things you fast in vain, Love not this world nor the things in this world. If you love the Lord you will love one another, above your selves." If you love me keep my commandments".  For the Lord is near to those who love Him
