I hate Islam, but my parents are muslim?

Hello Chin, I was born in Canada to a very religious family. My parents are both Algerian and were born there. My entire life was dedicated to Allah and Mohammed. I thought it would never be possible for me to even think of leaving Islam. I was aware of people leaving Islam but I though "Oh these people must be really miserable people and will burn in hell." I hope that Obama will do the same to Iran as Bush diod with Iraq. This would be the only way to stop hanging and stoning of innocent people. I never thought the Quran said non believers or people who lest Islam should be murdered. I learned the truth about Islam when my parents sent me away to Algeria to live at my uncles house. I met alot of apostates who left Islam and converted to Christianity in Algeria. I started to read the Bible and was shocked. I converted to Christianity. The best moment of my entire life. I asked Jesus to forgive my sins and enter my heart. I asked Jesus to save me.I was filled with joy in my heart. I started working with a Christian society in Algeria. Now I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for dying for sinners like you and I.

No matter what apologists for Islam may tell you, the penalty for apostasy for Muslims is death. Whether that’s a stranger, a friend – or a member of your family.

Male or female – Islam is an equal opportunity murderer when it comes to leaving Islam. Child or adult – age has no bearing whatsoever. Please be careful as you may be subject to an honor killing. When you do convert keep it between yourself and only yourself. If you live in the States than you are safe.

Read the quran and understand the true essence of islam. If you think islam is sexist then you obviously dont know what the bible says about woman. In the bible woman who dodt follow order Parallel Verses

I think your distaste is completely justified. Religion - all of em - are vile and stupid!!

The idea that theres some invisible man in the sky who cares who you sleep with, what you eat, who you like etc is ******* insane. And all that violence, rape, torture, tribalism does nothing but cause huge rifts between people when there shouldn't be.

The fact that you find islam a load of crap has no bearing on what you think of your parents. They buy into that **** but doesn't mean they're not good people worthy of your love. My dad is Christian and he's a lovely person but he doesn't apply critical thinking to this belief system and I suspect deep down he wants to buy it more than he actually does.

I welcome you to the world of thinking people who are able to examine ideas, render them absurd and throw them away. We need more people like you!!

I would suggest you to first learn about all religions without any preconceived notion or hatred against any religion and then decide which one is good. and don't get influenced by the media because media shows what they are paid for. Good Luck .

It just feel so so bad not to know where I belong I've been solving this problem with myself I'M CONFUSED there are a lot of people who dont beleive in God And they don't have any religion and there are alot of other people who are religious and each group has their own reason I'm Just 16 I'm trying to find my way But I'm LOST.Help me if you can.Thanks.

You can have your own beliefs. It's not that big of a deal if you believe in something else, or have an issue with your parents religion. Just don't tell them that you don't like it.

Islam is worst religion in this world, even prostitutes are good. I don t know why muslims are killing other innocents, what they want. I hate them

I'm an atheist, however I think that you shouldn't just believe in fake hadiths. I was a Muslim and I HATED it. But those hadiths you find online are just made up by extremists. Here, where I live, most real Muslim women just do what they like. Divorce, go out put on make up yet they pray etc.

Just tell your mum first I guess, so she can back you up because she seems cool and then approach your dad in a calm manner :) do it when he's happy too ;3

By the way, I don't know where you live but that must be a horrible environment. My mum (who's still a Muslim) and who never would ever think of abandoning her religion (btw I come from a massively religious family) still does as she chooses. Has an education and an equal marriage and doesn't believe that a woman should clean and a man should work unless they want :3 it's like that for most people here in the society I live in.

give a fair chance to islam. study it with open heart ,sit with scholars trying to understand things thatu dont understand.i have studied allthe religion s and believe me islam is the only true religion . i would recommend u listening to scholars that helped me like nauman ali khan,abdul nasir janghda,yasmin mogahed,hamza yusuf etc
