major difference between girlfriend & wife everywhere in world ?

The only reason I take my wife anywhere is so I don't have to kiss her goodbye.

I don't know if you are asking if there is big difference between being a wife and being a girlfriend, but that is how I understood the question.

Yes, there is a big difference but I think the difference lies in the cultural or personal opinion of the importance of being a wife as opposed to a girlfriend.

I have been married in the past. I am now a widow. At this time I live with the man I love and have for the past 7 years. Quite honestly the only difference I can see happens when it's time to file federal taxes.

A girlfriend is someone you date and have no major obligations to her.

A wife is someone you agree to love and live with for the rest of your life.

Same as guys. Girlfriends usually are working at the relationship. Wives (and husbands) become complacent (they figure they have already won the battle), and tend to put a lot less effort into the relationship (which results in divorce, where everyone has to put in effort again).

Kinda sad actually.

Girlfriend: you are both single, but you go on dates together and don't date other people.

Wife: you are married to each other, and see nobody else for dates.
