    I am thankful for the opportunity to share information with the more experienced and also the less experienced here in this section.

    I have learned that there are some universal truths that we all practice and also some of the specialties that give the individual styles their individuality.

    I think also that there is a group of really great individuals that are willing to take time out of their lives to help those on here that really want to learn something.

    That shows their heart, their commitment to martial arts, and how martial arts have become ingrained into their lives for the better.

    One of Nagamine Shoshin's dreams for the world was World Peace through the propagation of Martial Arts.

    We are at least finding comment ground and making lasting relationships for the betterment of the martial arts and in some ways the betterment of the world through the betterment of each individual.

    Funakoshi Gichin said;

    "The ultimate aim of the art of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in perfecting the character of its participants."

    Dr. Jigoro Kano - Founder of Judo 1882 said;

    "THE GOAL IS SIMPLE, ONE STUDENT AT A TIME"

    "By educating one person and sending him into the society of his generation, we make a contribution extending a hundred generations to come."

    I am glad to be a participant in this.

    Your spelling is great! Don't worry, English is also my second language and I sometimes have to think hard to find the rights words.

    My reason for being here is just to try and absorb as much information as possible. I am very passsionate about martial arts. Of course, there are people on here that I absolutely adore and look up to and then there are others who just make my blood boil. It is great to know that if I really have a problem or something on my mind, I can approach some people via e-mail and get a helpful and decent response.

    Just the idea that there are so many people willing and wanting to share information is what brings me here. To me, Martial Arts is a very personal and individualized practice and yet it has this uncanny ability to bring us all together. I don't always agree with what's being said but at the same time, I like that everyone has a difference of opinion. Whomever asks the question is bond to get an answer that will speak an ounce of truth to them.

    Learning from others, forming some sort of kinship, broadening my personal views and understanding on more than just martial arts, and attempting to help when I can.

    I am grateful for the things I have learned and the people I've met who matter. The trolls and other idiots fail to bother me anymore. Maybe that too is something I should be grateful for... The ability to ignore the ignorance and gain patience.

    Your English is great by the way.

    Because Yahoo is a business. They need to make money. Yahoo is an official partner with the UFC, a sports organization. They make a lot more money from that partnership and advertisers selling MMA gear than they do from so-called traditional martial artist. Yahoo spends a lot of money on research. This research has shown that most of the people always whining about there traditions not getting the proper attention are full of crap. If they weren't full of crap you can safely bet that a company would figure out how to capitalize on it. Nuff said.

    I looked at Yahoo Answers out of curiosity and I saw questions about my style being asked. And they were answered by posters who just copied and pasted from sources on the internet. And a lot of the answers are not even accurate. So I joined Yahoo Answers to give accurate answers to questions about my style. Everything that I post is based on something that I have experienced or witnessed. Or it was something told to me by high ranking practitioners of my style. Some of it is not pleasant. Some of it does not fit what the general public's perception of what martial arts is supposed to be. But when someone asks a question about my style, even though it is not perfect and it does have some flaws, they will get an answer from someone who has lived through it.

    I stay out of the internal politics of my style, but I answer the questions as accurately as possible while following the Yahoo Answers guidelines. There are people who don't like my answers, I have my share of Thumbs Downs. But, all I can say is, I'm not making any of this stuff up. And I'm not going to lie when I answer a question.

    I have not only been able to contribute, but I have learned much from the other seniors here. Some of them have become good friends. We all have background in different martial arts. Yet we respect each other, even if we don't always agree. It is funny that the one thing that we seniors seem to all share, that others don't is this..... We have risen above the silly notion of there being superior arts, styles, or techniques. We understand that the Martial arts do not have a life of their own. In other words we understand that martial arts are only tools. Like a master sculptor, we understand that it is not the addition of more to what we do, but the chipping away of what is not needed. The master if it ever comes is not in the study of a lot of styles or techniques. it is in mastering small things. it is in understanding that it is our ability to use a few things well rather than a lot of things badly. Martial arts are a tool, they are not alive. They exist only in our use of them. They are only as good as our ability to use them.

    Often I have felt like quitting this section. I tire of the people that refuse to listen to those with more experience. But the bottom line here is the number of members that write to say how much they have appreciated my efforts and the efforts of the other seniors here. As I see it if we can only save one person form joining a McDojo, we have perhaps changed someones life in a big way. There are those that hate us for speaking our minds. but who has earned the right to speak out? If not us, then Who? If we d not speak out then the rest of the members here get only half baked answers. Some come from people that sincerely mean to be helpful. Some of them succeed, some not. Then there are the idiots and wanna-bees out there that only want to cause harm or disrupt. They are either intentional trouble makers or Those that have no clue how ignorant they are.

    Sorry for the long answer. But I feel these things are appropriate to answer the question asked.

    Don't worry about others overview on English language buddy,my ''ENGLISH'' for me is worst but people who admire my true personality says my English is the best.What matters is how courageous I am enough to use it in my daily life.

    What matters most is how I openly express my views and opinions.

    I am here using my freedom of expression, to answer and to share my knowledge on certain matters.

    I am not here to compete the best English speaker of the whole world.

    Going back to your question:

    Here in Martial Arts section I learned more some different ways and techniques that is useful in real life situations.Those techniques that I haven't see my Master performing in school.

    There is a sharing here between martial artists of very different stripes that seems to me to be unique in the martial art world. Folks from many different philosophies and styles contribute to each other in a spirit of advancing martial arts, no matter the style. I have learnt more from those who do other styles than my own, though there are outstanding shotokan folks here too. Between us we learn and teach each other in a brotherly and sisterly way. Even the trolls contribute to conversations by keeping the others of us on the ball, and causing conversations on lots of topics. I teach a little here, and I learn a lot, and I assume others do the same. I like to share what I know with others, and I like to share what YOU know even more!

    So thank you Kemjiu ®, and all the rest of you for contributing to my education. I hope I also help in some small way.

    @ Stillcrazyafteralltheseyears, excellent answer, I agree completely sir.

    Sometimes I get an insight from some of the more experienced Martial Artiest on here.

    Sometimes it shows me how some of my students may be thinking.

    I like to help encourage someone to take up a martial art or to succeed with the one they may be taking.

    It is an outlet for me, perhaps another way to give something back.
