Why should someone be threatened with legal action if all they have done is share their opinion?
I shared my opinion to a previous question asked on here, and despite having had personal experience, and ensuring I made no direct defamatory statements, the company in question wrote in response and threatened legal action. What's up with that? Do you think maybe someone is feeling insecure about their companies business practices? What's YOUR opinion?

If all you did was share your opinion on here, nobody, NOBODY, has the right to threaten legal action!
This is a site made for sharing opinions and experiences and ideas. Just because someone may not agree with your opinion, it doesn't mean they should threaten legal actions against you, or anyone else on here! There are community rules to be followed. If someone breaks those rules, there is a course of action to be taken. It isn't another members job to threaten legal actions against users of Yahoo Answers.
I'm going to have to do some searching of my own on here now. I'm curious as to what company did this!
Maybe these people do feel guilty, or as you put it, insecure about their companie's business practices!
Sounds like BULLYING to me! And that's my opinion!

Anyone can threaten legal action for anything. You don't need a basis to sue. You just have to file the necessary paperwork with the court.
However just because they can sue, doesn't mean they will. You can always counter-sue for the company to cover your legal expenses.
And the PR damage might keep them from actually filing suit.
