What is the most aggravating trait of religion/atheism?
You can pick any, all, or lack of religion as the subject of this question. What is it that aggravates you the most?
I know that mine is the built in need to convert others. Religion is all about believing that you aren't good enough, your best will never get you to where you want to go. You can't win, you can't break even, and you can't get out of the game. This is sad enough that people would believe it, but the fact that they are called to SHARE this message, albeit with a way to be saved from themselves, is completely insane.
If religion were something that you signed up for instead of being recruited to I think I might be able to respect the person's CHOICE to delude themselves(not their kids)...but I would never approve.

The most aggravating trait of religion, and it's not all theists who do this, but it's the way they think they know what other people believe and what motivates them. Especially when they bring it all back to rebelling against their own beliefs; it just sounds like they're trying to beef up their own faith and it's always 100% inaccurate. They come across as really insecure.
I don't know what anyone means by "atheism", there's nothing more to it than not believing in gods, but there can be a tendency toward hypocrisy in some atheists (yeah it's a human failing) As an atheist, it's something I try hard to avoid

It's hard to pick just one. I'd say that the violence is the most aggravating trait. From the Islamic texts that demand war against the unbelievers to the Bible/Torah book of Leviticus that demands the death penalty for homosexuality (Lev. 20:13), religion is responsible for a majority of the violence taking place in the world today (from the genocide in Darfur to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to the War on Terror fueled by Islamofascists and their counterpart, Christian fundamentalists).
I may be able to attempt to respect religion if it and its adherents were not so bloodthirsty.

religion: indoctrination at an early age. beliefs entering into governments and denying civil rights for people of different race, sex, or sexual orientation.
atheism: pompousness. it seems a lot of time there are just some overly zealous atheists that break the mold for a 'non' belief.

Individuals who think putting others down somehow raises them up, whether it's thru religion (holier-than-thou) or no religion (I'm more intelligent than you are). In the end, all it does, is make that individual look childish.

what aggravates me most about religion is that they criticise the fundamentals of science before even educating themselves on the subject: evolution for example. they also say the bible is proof of god existence - don't even get me started on how wrong that is.

Religion: I hate when I hear; 'thank god for...' 'god bless' 'thank christ' etc.
Athiesm; I can't think of anything aggravating.

My biggest problem is the whole slavery thing.
Not the part where 'god' said slavery was ok:
But the part that says "YOU WILL WORSHIP ME AND YOU WILL DO WHAT I SAY WITH OUT QUESTION. IN OTHER WORDS, YOU WILL BE MY SLAVE."

They refuse to accept evolution. Even though it is a fact. ( not all by the way )
