What is the error when Authority exceeds (is greater than) responsibility?

I believe the error happens when that authority turns into a place that person draws a sense of pride and meaning. Then their responsibilities take back seat to the feeling they get when they exercise their authority. The more they get to order people around the better they find themselves feeling. They do this all in their subconscious mind not realizing why or what causes them to do it. But most people let their emotions control them and hardly ask why or even ask questions.
