What is the fastest fresh water fish in the UK?
I've been told its a pike, I was told it been recorded at doing over 70mph on a strike, then again grass carp & orfe are fast.

if your looking for the fastest speed when frightened it would be brook trout who can shoot down stream at 80mph but the fish that will run the fastest after a bait is pike. and the hardest fighter would be a close call between pike and catfish.
