I wouldn't recommend it long term. Inkjet paper has clay on the surface so the ink doesn't soak in and bleed all over. If you run a lot of inkjet paper through your laser, the clay will coat the rollers and your printer won't feed paper correctly. You can clean the rollers, but it's a pain.
Also the inkjet paper isn't made to handle the heat from the fuser. It's more likely to curl up and jam inside the fuser.
In a pinch it won't hurt to run one or two pieces through, but I wouldn't buy a big pack of inkjet paper for my laser printer.

are you talking about using so-called inkjet paper in a laser? I have several printers, inkjet and laser, and I use the same paper in all of them (except for photo paper which is specific to the inkjets). I have never noticed any difference in print quality.
