Can you bring powdered formula to on all-inclusive vacation?
I am traveling to the Dominican Republic (from Canada) in two weeks with my husband and 10 month old daughter. I just weaned her off the breast, and want to hold off for a month or two on giving her whole cow's milk, so I will need to have formula to feed her the week we are away.
I wanted to pack my own can of powdered formula in my checked luggage (I know you can have formula in your diaper bag to give them on the plane)... is it alright to bring formula to the Dominican Republic? Or would that be considered outside food which might be banned? I really don't want to have to buy formula while I am there. My little girl is really picky about formula and its hard to get a brand that she will drink.
I am concerned about customs confiscating it, I am sure the resort will have no issue.

Are you concerned about it not being allowed into the country, or not being allowed at the resort? It is not clear from your question.
In any case, in my opinion (which, of course, counts for nothing), it would be totally absurd for either the county or the resort to forbid baby formula.
Countries are typically only concerned about meat and vegetable/fruit products that might carry some disease or pest. Processed foods are not a problem.
If you are concerned about the resort, then call them up or e-mail them and ask that question.
EDIT: I do not think that customs will have any problem with a quantity that is for personal use. It you were bringing 20 cases, and planning on selling it while you were there, then they would need to charge you duty on that import. Personal use quantities of anything are not a problem. In any case, I do not think they would confiscate it.

Of course, then just ask for hot water and make your own bottle for your child!
pack it in your checked luggage!
