Is the Winged Dragon of Ra a good card to use in duels?

I bid on the playable version of Ra and am winning the bid so far, I'm the only bidder.

Everyone is saying Obelisk is better though. Has anyone had good playing experiences with Ra playable version?

Surely if you can summon it quickly and have 8000 lifepoints, in that case it totally owns Obelisk since it's attack would be 8000.

What do you think about the playable version of The Winged Dragon of Ra?

Update:

Pika Pika I had already bidded on Ra when I asked the previous question. I only asked it to see if ai made the right choice.

Apparenty I didn't. I realized Obelisk would have been better AFTER I bid on Ra.

well in todays metagame, i highly doubt anyone will let you have more than three monsters on your side of the field, unless you have cards like marshmallon, spirit reaper, as they cannot be destroyed by battle. but this can be countered by a torrential tribute.

It depends really i guess, obelisk is more playable and can wipe the field by sacrificing two monsters. and if you clear the entire backrow its an instant -4000 for them

Ra, i guess you can pay 5000 lifepoints, however if you were facing a light based deck and you get honested, gg.

Doesn matter when or where in the meta game, it will always be a bad card. 3 tributes aren't worth it and yes obelisk is alot better. Ra's effect is crap too. Obelisk has some protection at least. At least don't spend more the $4 for Ra.

    1) did you not read our advice

    2) did you not read the card? if you have 8000 LP, you only get 7900 ATK

    3) Wow, you just summon a 7900 beatdown, if this was possible, most likely you have no hand and your field depleted and only monster is ra, and I have a simple sakertsu to rape ra when you dare to attack, seriously, if your facing a decent deck, chance are, ra welll be a dead hand, and when you actually summon it, you most likely well have around 4000 LP, having 100 LP is just telling you, 1 mistake and your dead

    4) should have gotten obelisk, ra is so much fail, makes me wonder why you bothered to ask this question in the first place if you chose to ignore our advice

    5) High ATK points dont mean crap when a simple trap kills it, unlike obelisk he has actual protection

A thousand times no. When are the askers going to catch on that most of us who have played this game for a long time would never use it?

ra is pretty bad because it takes out life points till you have 100 and can be easily stopped

I thought neither of the three god cards can be effected by magic or trap cards. I guess I was wrong lol.

Obelisk is pretty good and Ra is good too. so both are pretty good so either one.
