Nose Piercings ! XD ?
Hi, I'm 12 years old, 13 in May and most people say I'm really mature for my age. XD
How can I persuade my Mum to let me have my nose pierced, not a ring, just a small stud. I asked her and she said no, (only because of a chance of infection, she said if that wasn't so high, then she'd most likely let me have it done. My dad has said yes though. I've told Mum i'll pay for it and if I or she doesn't like it, then i'll take it out. Any other ideas ?
Also, How do I look after it (try to make sure it doesn't get infected etc.) ?
Any pro's or con's ?
I've had my ear lobes pierced, how would you compare how much that hurts to a nose piercing ?
What exactly is the chance of it ever actually getting infected ?
Can it get pierced with a clear stud ? I've heard you can't because it raises the chance of infection, is this true ? If it is, What can I get it pierced with so that you can hardly see it ?
Please don't say to wait until i'm older or that it looks stupid or something like that ! XD
Thanks alot for your help ! XD
btw. I've tried on stick on gems to see how it looks and my friends say that it suits me :)
And. If you've seen that I've already asked this question a couple of times, It's because I need as many opinions and advice as possible XD

Firstly, as long as you take care of it, it won't get infected. Really, the worst piercing for infections would be the tongue (can you imagine trying to keep that clean? Yuck!). I would suggest that you use surgical steel, stainless steel, or other precious metals (golds, etc) for your studs, because it'll lower your chance for infection. If you use cheap-o studs, it'll infect your nose as fast as it would infect your ear. Your piercer will likely give you a cleaning solution to clean the piercing daily. If they don't, ask for it. It's no different from an ear piercing in that respect.
As far as the pain is concerned... don't expect it to be anything like getting your ear pierced because it really is a lot worse. The worst part isn't the act of getting it pierced, it's how ridiculously sore your nose will be for weeks afterwards. Facial expressions will hurt for awhile after you get it pierced. Heck, when I got mine done, mine would swell up around THAT time of the month, every month, and would be sore all over again. Luckily that stopped after the first year or so.
If you want to convince your mom though, remind her that the hole itself closes REALLY fast. If you decide later on that you don't really like it, that it's keeping you from getting a job or whatever (which it won't) then you can take it out and the hole will close up on it's own pretty quickly. It's a really safe piercing in that respect.

i have the same problem with my mom, yet im 16. you should promise that you will try very hard to make sure it is clean and show her your responsibility by doing other things that would prove your ready to get it. just remember that sometimes getting these facial piercing CAN(not always) affect future job opportunities.
