You should look into your BMI which will tell you the amount of calories your body burns without activity.
To give you a ballpark estimate, 5,000 calories is the equivalent of 1lb. But it also depends on if your eating healthy calories or lethargic calories such as excessive carbohydrates (bread n such) or really fatty food, at 5'6" and 120lbs your near an ideal weight you could even gain a few so don't worry too much, your still growing and if your active, 1800 calories may be too little!

I'm 17, 5'10" 154 (mostly muscle lol) and i eat 1300 caloaries a day a do 1-2 hours exercise every and I am maintiaing /losing weight, so i guess 1800 would help to maintain.

...If being 120 at 5'6" is your thing, then sure... But since you're a guy you could probably get away with eating 2500 with all your exercise and still not gain weight. You might actually lose weight eating only 1800.
:( I'm jealous because you weigh less than me. And I'm a girl.

You could eat less, but best to lose weight slowly. A pound is 3500 calories.. Goodluck!

Yes, as young as you are and as active as you are, you need that many calories.
