Reports show real unemployment (BLS U6) fell to 16.7%, while Gallup claims 19.9%. Who do you believe… recovery?

Links are posted for both Bureau of Labor Statistics and Gallup poll data with Gallup.com capably explaining the basis for the disparity in their 19.9% rate from the March government based calculations released by the Department of Labor. Since the burden of who’s unemployed and who remains unemployed long-term is disproportionate based on demographic data such as race, ethnicity, age, and education levels, who appears to be gaining ground in the anemic, jobless recovery liberals suggest is taking place?

Two more links will show which group has gained jobs over the past year, while legitimate citizens languish in search of largely non-existent jobs for American workers. How does the Y!A community feel about illegal migrants and limited numbers of recognized immigrants gaining more than 656,000 jobs, while citizens here continued to lose more than 1.2 million jobs during the same reported recovery period? In case you haven’t recognized the determination of increasing numbers of businesses to hire only the cheapest employees, consider watching the Cohen & Grigsby Fake Job Ads video, which shows some eye opening Human Resources tricks.

Can you foresee real unemployment falling into, or below, the 10% range again, as it was for 93 of George Bush’s 96 months in office (right up until the 2008 election, in fact), by 2016 as government forecasts now suggest? Or will it take the rest of the decade, assuming it ever returns to pre-Obama levels? For anyone keeping track, the real unemployment U6 rate has averaged 16.6% over the 25-plus months the President has been in office with the rare privilege of implementing policies of a Democratic Party Super Majority, thoroughly in control of every measure of legislation.

Government statistics, and specifically in this case BLS unemployment data, leave a lot to be desired to say the least. How the statistics were supposed to be reported was changed in significant ways during the early stages of the last Democratic President's Administration. It was hard to believe anything Clinton said, and various U.S. government agencies began shifting how they reported statistics in many subtle, and some not so subtle ways, to try to control a carefully crafted public impression. In spite of U6 data being more inclusive than U3 and trying to be reflective of the true unemployment picture, it's still not likely to be as accurate as Gallup's data, which is less politically motivated by far.

There's no question Hispanics and illegal Mexican workers in particular appear to have gained the lion’s share of the country’s limited recovery. The article from Dollard about Americans out of work and the Human Resources tricks for hiring immigrants were excellent links that explain how many of our own citizens are being denied access to the work force. Until there's a fundamental change in hiring processes and decisions, it's hard to imagine how we achieve any reasonable measure of recovery. Our current liberal leadership and the compliant MSM propaganda network are doing everything they can to sell the American public on an economic recovery that's supposed to be underway. The real problem with that thinly veiled attempt at deception is that U.S. citizen workers are still without employment or income at a rate approaching 20 percent, and Americans miss the infusion of spendable income from many millions of formerly employed heads of households. Since non-citizen Latino workers often wire as much as a third of their income back south of the border and may try to live primarily on the social services dollars they collect while being paid under the table, the whole economy is being badly damaged by scammers our leadership shows no signs of willingness to deal with as of yet.

Given their role in the destruction of the economy, there's little reason to believe we'll move toward any substantial recovery without clamping down on illegal immigration. Employers will have to change the pattern of hiring the lowest cost worker first, whenever one is available. Education, training, and experience should still have some value for prospective workers trying to find employment. A restoration of efforts to deport illegal aliens and more serious application of employment law to hold rogue employers accountable would go a long way to turning the economy into legitimate recovery mode. Obviously, under this Administration, the American public cannot expect the President to turn on the illegal voters he must rely on as the only glimmer of hope to return to office for a second term. Until Obama is replaced there will be no positive movement on behalf of the American citizenry to deal with the most obvious cause of an economy that cannot support the glut of workers in need of employment.

Given the method that the BLS utilizes in making their determination of what constitutes being unemployed I would say that Gallop is far more accurate.

As an example, the BLS also uses data from their own polls but if you worked even one single day within that polling period you are not considered to be unemployed. If you are not actively searching for work, BLS does not consider you to be unemployed. If you are helping your parents out in their very small home business and are not receiving any pay, the BLS does not consider you to be unemployed.

This is the way that the BLS has tracked these figures for many years, if they tracked real numbers there would have never been a president reelected.

As one of the evil talk radio junkies, I have detected a little known fact which helps put the "official" unemployment numbers in perspective. I don't know about this month, but for the last several months about half a million people have fallen off the rolls (of those looking for work) per month. Half a million people somehow managed to stop looking for work PER MONTH!

Where are they going? Are they joining the underground economy? Moving in with their parents or kids? They are simply disappearing from the official rolls. Apparently they have found solutions not involving having an official job and also not taking money from government. They just disappeared.

I see you did your homework. IMO Gallup is realistic. People have given up or have settled for "underemployment."

As for immigration -- even legal immigration and migrant workers -- I say it's time to reconsider. I know for a fact in Germany the native-born rank #1 for employment, nationals second (those who pass citizenship) and don't even bother with immigrants.

Polls don't reflect opinion, they shape it.

Kinda like "Jay Walking" on Leno. They only keep the really stupid/funny ones.

    (in his case)

The truth is likely somewhere between, and round that number up.

Sheep panic easily, yet are easily led. There is a fine line between herding & a stampede.

The Japanese didn't admit to their people to losing 4 Carriers at Midway until 6-months later.

The truth "trickled" down to them only when it could no longer be denied.

(letters stopped coming, & the boys didn't come home)

I suspect that the actual unemployment rate is higher than both figures, because some people simply quit looking for work and those aren't counted as unemployed.

The only trouble with the "bls" is it's from the government and I personally would believe chicken little before any report of the government, by the government!!

We`re sure the %`s are much higher than either of these polls suggest ! If not , it will be when Obama`s hoard starts entering the USA this year ~ Obama allows 80,000 Muslim immigrants into United States

    • October 24, 2010 .. President Barrack Hussein Obama is allowing 80,000 Muslims to immigrate next year to the United States. He is doing this by executive order.

Mr. Obama says that the increase in Muslim immigrants “is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest.”

The following “goals” for new Muslim immigrants has been set as follows:

Refugee Resettlement Watch and other organizations have expressed grave concern that Mr. Obama is allowing so many immigrants into the country while so many Americans remain out of work and living in poverty.

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE

SUBJECT: Fiscal Year 2011 Refugee Admissions Numbers and Authorizations of In-Country Refugee Status Pursuant to Sections 207 and 101(a)(42), Respectively, of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and Determination Pursuant to Section 2(b)(2) of the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act, as Amended

The 80,000 admissions numbers shall be allocated among refugees of special humanitarian concern to the United States in accordance with the following regional allocations; provided that the number of admissions allocated to the East Asia region shall include persons admitted to the United States during FY 2011 with Federal refugee resettlement assistance under section 584 of the Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 1988, as contained in section 101(e) of Public Law 100-202 (Amerasian immigrants and their family members):

The 3,000 unallocated refugee numbers shall be allocated to regional ceilings, as needed. Upon providing notification to the Judiciary Committees of the Congress, you are hereby authorized to use unallocated admissions in regions where the need for additional admissions arises.

Source(s): **** Note that in the letter to the Secretary of State it says "" the immigrants will be taken care of with *Federal refugee resettlement assistance* ! So there`s going to be 80,000 unemployed Muslim immigrants on food stamps , unemployment benefits , free housing , and free health care all paid for by the US taxpayers !!!
