Who is more human/self centred?

1. Scientists are said to believe "man is the measure of all things". And some say they should wake up and realize that there are things beyond this realm and that science can't provide an answer for everything.

2. Many religions claim God made a world with us as His crowning achievement e.g. "sixth day" in Genesis. Some say they are fools to believe in "a universe made just for us"...

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I think you'd find a mix in both philosophies.

But scientists are more likely to be comfortable with the concept that humans are just another part of nature rather than some 'special creation' as theists often say.

However, since we humans have the most control over our environment than other animals and plants, and a brain with an ego, we all certainly are inclined to arrange things for our own benifit rather than for other life forms.

Lots of folks should wake up and realize that there are things beyond this realm and that science can't provide an answer for everything.

But even more, there are LOTS of things scientists ARE discovering that people are doing with their minds, and with prayer.

I think the more self centered are those who refuse to believe anything outside what is seen and on the surface and able to be proven easily.

Scientists measure all things available to be measured and humbly accept reality as whatever it turns out to be. Religious believers in hypothetical deities, flatter themselves by pretending that their imaginations can hold a working model of a being that can wish a universe into existence, yet are sure that humans are more important to that hypothetical deity than anything else in the universe.

There is not the slightest bit of evidence that humans are anything more than insignificant, tiny life forms on one tiny, damp speck of dust of a planet among trillions of planets orbiting trillions of stars in a vast and uncaring universe. Scientists are the people who have helped us realize this important fact about our own existence. It is the religious who have the galaxy sized egos.

Let me just say that there is a lot of unexplainable things that happen around us , do you think that things like that just happen? I have faith in Jesus/God , and no body's opinion will ever change that.

(see John Popelish's answer to witness an ego problem)
