is there any way to request to be a line medic? I want a job in the Army that will guarentee me being in the field

You can request being a line medic but it depends on how your unit is structured. I was a Headquaters medic for 3 years and for the last 3 have been a line medic. I wouldn't trade my job as a line medic for anything. The guys I work with are all good guys and know their stuff, As a medic though we are everywhere with everybody. I know I have worked with armor, artillery, infantry, MPs, did some work with aviation, and now am happy with engineers. We move around a lot but it is always awesome.
