What to do with my chickens when I go out of town?

For those of you who have chickens that roam during the day and return to the coop at night what do you do while you are away on vacation? Do you just leave them locked in the coop until you get back and then continue to let them out during the day and back at night or do you have someone stop by and close the door at night?

If I was you I would leave them in just to be on the safe side you never know what might happen just give them plenty of water and food and just ask someobe who knows chickens to come by and check and make sure they have food and water and just make sure to tell them not to let them out unless they will come back and put them up

Have someone stop by and let them out and put them back in before they leave (they stay for a half hour to an hour). I wouldn't leave them unsupervized!

we've always had at least one person at home, I can't take off and expect everything to be ok. and there's too many animals to ask someone to take care of them for me anyway. If you can find someone to come at almost dark to shut them in, that would be cool. but if you leave them in they'll probably be fine, long as they have food and water.

Get a chicken sitter and get at least 1 back up sitter
