Does anybody remember a TV commercial in which...?
...a guy wanders into a bar out of the desert. Dehydrated and barely able to talk, he orders some "dry, salty crackers." People in the bar watch in fascination while he chokes them down. Then he orders the product du jour, a bottle of some kind of soda, and washes it all down. The soda, of course, was so refreshingly wonderful, it was worth every dry bite of the crackers.
What was the soda? What brand? Where can I see this ad again?
My sister remembers a similar one in which the order is for a bag of potato chips.
Help?

Teem which was made by Pepsi. I think it later became Slice and the Sierra Mist. It was a rival drink to 7up and Sprite. There were two of these commercials, one with a cowboy in the middle of the desert, the second with someone who was on a liferaft for weeks. "Get this man some water!" "No, get me some dry, salty crackers/pretzels." The commercials are available on YouTube and Dailymotion but unfortunately only in Spanish.

The commercial was for "Teem," a lemon-lime soda produced by Pepsi. I have been unable to locate the commercials so far, and a Google search led me to your question. Good luck!!

He had the soda in a brief case full of ice....he was just waiting for the right time. "Build your thirst, build it till you can't take it anymore, then blow it away with Teem."
They still sell Teem in the street side taco stands in Tijuana.... :)

I recall him saying, "Gimme a... Bag of potato chips"... But otherwise I remember the same as you. A Google search led me to this question... Has anyone found it in English?
