Is the Japan disaster supposed to be funny?

https://www.facebook.com/borrowlenses/posts/201387...

Apparently 20,000 people dead or missing was no big deal, but delay the release of a few new lenses and we now have to "Cancel Christmas". Am I over reacting in thinking this is pretty insensitive? Am I missing the humor?

Yes, it's very funny to me! I am Chinese. My grandparents and my parents suffered immensely when Japanese soldiers invaded China beginning in the 1920's. My grandparents, parents and other Chinese rejoiced in 1945, after the United States government dropped the atomic bombs on Japan. It's again payback time for the Japanese, and let them suffer now for the same misery that their soldiers inflicted in the past on the thousands of lives of the people of China, Korea, the Philippines, etc. The passing of time may temper some of the hatred directed towards the Japanese, however, the past will never be forgotten.

What haapened to the Japanese People is very tragic and my heart goes out to them. They are a very proud people and they will rebuild and over come this setback and probably come out of this hardship a much stronger race of people.

Have you ever noticed on here, that whenever a terrible tragedy happens somewhere in the world, this community is alive with questions and answers and then in just a short couple of days, the topic turns to something else, maybe not something that has happened in the world, but usually back to the same old topics as previously. Its almost like the attention span is very short and they only talk about recent events, but when they feel its old news, they go to something else.

The disasters that hit Japan will be in my mind for many years to come and what happened to them is not a fleeting moment to me, not at all.

Sometimes I tend to think that the average attention span on here is like a bb on a four lane highway.

This actually a good question. People deal with tragedy in many ways. While not my favorite but humor is one of them. It is very sad what happened to the Japanese people.

The disasters never are the funny. We are humans and they are humans too.So the pain of one human can never be funny for others.
