    Because sometimes it can be used for such. Science helped make Anthrax... look at the panic and chaos that has caused. So, in the same sense that people call religion "evil"... which in and of itself it isn't. It's all in how a person Uses those things that it becomes good or evil. So the terms normally end up on the concept itself... religion is evil... science is evil.

    Science is knowledge gained through observation and experimentation with\of nature. Evidence for evolution can be found all throughout the fossil record. Furthermore, the evidence of DNA, investigated in lab settings, doesn't lie. All of this evidence can, and has, been independently varified. Scientific theories must be falsifiable -- and there are many ways in which evolution can be falsified. Yet it hasn't. It is a very strongly supported scientific theory, not a faith. You do not need faith when the evidence of Fossils, Genes, Geographical distribution, Anatomical similarities, and so on and so forth is available. Peace.

    They got it mixed up. It's like saying money is evil instead of the love of money. How you apply science can be good or evil. Science in itself is not evil.

    Same reason that someone might say guns are evil.

    They aren't, they're just a mechanism for firing a bit of metal really fast in a particular direction. Very useful for hunting, or for target shooting - a fun and challenging hobby.

    Some people can't understand things unless they imagine them as capable of agency.

    I don`t recall knowing anyone who would call science evil, other than the superstitious folks of the middle ages.

    Why are you asking this question in the RS section?

    Unless you`re aware of all the scientific facts that are in the Bible.

    alternatively

    6 tons of cabbage = death

    death = evil

    cabbage = evil.

    How useful a tool is, is often indicative of how dangerous it would be in the hands of the selfish or irresponsible.

    Religion, science, cars, guns, pick any useful tool you can think of.

    I've heard someone call science "sclience". I thought that was funny and mildly disturbing since they were completely serious.

    It is because science dares question their god's work.

    Plain and simple.

    Children who don't understand it are often so afraid that they consider it evil.
