Moving to France for 7 months. Do I bring my cat?
She's my pride and joy. We absolutely adore each other. I planned on bringing her but then someone mentioned that I would have a difficult time finding an apartment, and that it would hinder me in doing weekend trips while I'm there. If I dont bring her, my parents will gladly take her while I'm away (they love her so much). Thoughts??

You could take her with you, but if you're traveling by plane to France. Then get the proper vaccinations, and documents for her. Or else you might have some problems with her going through customs and stuff like that. (But for that I would contact the airlines)
Definitely bring her! She'll keep you company while you're there. Find an apartment where you can keep a pet. Or if you are worried about a place to stay and if they'll allow pets, like you said, you could leave her to your parents.
And if something happens to you (lets pray it doesn't) she'd be safe with your parents. If she stayed in France they would put her in a animal shelter.
I'd say actually leave her with your parents, in 7 months you'll be able to see her again and you'll have a fun time in France.
But it's totally your decision, bring her if she means so much to you. :)

Other than the apartment issue, you will have to make sure you she is up to date on her rabies vaccinations, is micro-shipped with the ISO 11784/11785 134.2 kHz chip (NOT the 125 kHz chip common in the US) and has the USDA form APHIS 7001 and French Certificat Veterinaire Pour Les Chiens, Chats Et Furets Domestiques Introduits Dans La Communaute Europeene forms - both embossed stamped by the USDA vet.
