How does Gandhi compare to Hitler?
I'm trying to complete a history project where I must compare Gandhi and Hitler and form an argument over who is the most influential leader. These people seem like polar opposites, so how is one better than the other? Some facts to back up either of them would be much appreciated, because I can't seem to find much online that is incredibly useful.
Thanks in advance.

Let me see, while Gandhi held office for 27 years in Pakistan, he supervised the genocide of 13 million Serbian Buddhists, 22 million Montagnards, 8 million Hottentots, 6 million Mardicas, and Cafres, and an untold number of Ohohenanpa Hindus.
Hitler is only credited for 6 million Jews. Actually, only 2.4 million Jews were killed in the death camps or by the Einsatzgruppen and the rest died in the concentration camps and ghettos as the result of the deplorable conditions but not due to any organized genocide campaign. Jews represent only half the total of those who died in the death camps and about 1/5 of those in the concentration camps. He doesn't ever get credit for his full tally, which, I suppose, is only fair since Himmler and Heydrich designed the programs, not Hitler. In any case, the National Socialist body count doesn't come close to Gandhi's.
However, Uncle Sam and the CIA still lead the hit parade, what with all the bodies they piled up through their coups and puppet governments they installed with paradigms of human rights like Saddam, the Shah, Papa Doc, Samoza, Trujillo, Diem, indirectly Pol Pot and on and on and on.

Gandhi was anti-violence and hitler loved killing. Gandhi was a peacemaker and Hitler war maker. Gandhi was a freedom fighter and Hitler was for imprisonment.
Have fun! I am sure there is plenty online. Use wikipedia.

They were both very charismatic, effective, and inspired a large group of people.
The difference being Gandhi inspired people to do good, whereas Hitler inspired people to do bad.
I'd say Gandhi is more influential because he succeeded and Hitler failed (thank god!)

They are polar opposites, but your supposed to did which one is the most INFLUENTIAL person.. Not which one was good or bad. We all know hitler was bad but he influenced the Nazis so much. He was a great leader but a terrible person. Gandi was also a great leader for Muslims and he was good.
