    Sims what... 1? 2? 3?

I don't play sims but to find what graphic card / system requirements are needed to play PC games just simply google....

" GAME NAME System Requirements PC"

    or

" GAME NAME Minimum Requirements PC"

... unless ofc your on a Mac... then replace PC with Mac.

    Simple.

    ==============

DirectX9 is a API for gaming... it's Microsoft Proprietary... as apposed to OpenGL

You need a graphics card which is DirectX9 compatible...

the small "c" after the 9 is just the version of DirectX9.

but to make things even MORE simpler for you... since your obviously not someone who is interested in learning this stuff...

    http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

put in the name of the game, download a small file if it requests, it will test you whether your computer can play sims... if it can't it will likely suggest what type of graphics card you need... and also other things such as RAM and CPU and HDD space.

Easiest way is to visit the website: www.canyourunit.com/

This website says if your computer is capable of running of playing a certain game.

Another option is to run the file DXDiag.exe on your computer. It's a standard Windows program, but to understand what it all means may be quite difficult, so I would recommend the first step. Good luck!

The video card is one of those green 'cards' in your computer that says how video is displayed.

If your wondering if your you have the right video card, and you already own the game, try installing it. If it works it works.

    To find your video card:

    Right click My Computer

    Properties

    Hardware

*there should be something like hardware manager*

    Scroll to video card

    click it

That should tell you your video card.
