Movies with any rating (R to G) but it depends on the plane and the length of the flight... like the only planes that dont have a tv, is any McDonnell Douglas, CRJ, and Embraer (ERJ)

It depends on the length of the flight and whether it's a larger plane with an in-flight entertainment system. On a long flight there will be a choice of movies, music channels, possibly old TV shows, a comedy channel - and since the invention of the seat-back screen, you can choose what you want to see because you have your own private screen in the back of the seat in front of you. This will also be used to show the safety video at the start of the flight. There may be a charge for a headset so you can hear without bothering everyone else - it just wouldn't work otherwise.

Just out of interest, I'm old enough to remember when there were no seat-back screens and on, say, a transatlantic flight, a meal would be served, then the cabin was darkened and the movie (no choice) was projected from a ceiling projector on to a screen at the front of the cabin. If you were short and couldn't see over the seats in front of you, you couldn't watch it.

The movies available will be a selection of recently released ones. On a flight from London to the US in 2005 I watched "Mr and Mrs Smith", which was released that year about 3 months earlier.
