Fun things to do in Victoria, British Columbia or Vancouver?
My wife and I are taking a road trip from southern Cali, to Victoria British Columbia, Canada, in a few months. I've been there before but I was young.. What are some really fun things to do in that area and maybe Vancouver too?

Well, it depends on what you consider to be fun. Victoria is known for it's gardens starting with Butchart Gardens (Privately owned) and then the grounds a Government House, home of BC's Lieutenant Governor (the house is closed to the public but the grounds are normally open during the day) and not forgetting Beacon Hill Park. There are several museums starting with the Royal BC Museum and IMAX Theatre located on the Inner Harbour just across the street from the BC Legislature which is also open at various times for tours. There are numerous shops and galleries all within an easy walk from the downtown region and a number of tours also leave from there, generally from in front of the Empress Hotel where High Tea is an experience. The tourism bureau is located across the street from there right on the harbour and they have information on many other activities from whale watching to hiking to city walks. If the "ghostly" side of things interests you there is always the Ghostly Walks. Note that this takes you through the back alleys at times but it is a way to hear stories about former residents that do not want to seem to leave. Depending on the time of year there are several different tours you can take both for this and many other activities.
As you are driving take time to head up the Island through a number of small towns and, if you have time, head to Long Beach National Park near Tofino. There are a number of sites along the way and different activities that you can do.

Rent a car, do a hike from China beach to Bear beach and do an overnight camp (bring food obviously, i don't know what that other girl was talking about, no one would be dumb enough to try to hunt for their own food here). It is a 5 mile hike.......or you can keep going a do the complete Juan de Fuca hike, I think it takes about 4 days....very beautiful and should be dry in the summer.
