anyone out there who owns a small business that have had bogus reviews?
Damaging reviews that have had adverse results..ex-disgruntled employees...competitors? How long before Yahoo pulls this off...Have you asked to be taken off Yahoo Local or have those bogus review reviewed or removed?? How do you fight an out of control system that claims to want to help you when all they do is hurt you by letting people use false names to make false claims...

Unfortunately virtually all online product and service reviews are to be taken with just a grain of salt. Most are bogus, as they are written by those who have a vested interest in either praising or discrediting a particular product or service, or else are written by those who have nothing better to do with their time than play games...often never seeing, let alone using the product or service that they are reviewing. Sadly however, such reckless performance has in many cases ruined a good product, while in other cases, has promoted scams to look like they were in fact honest business ventures.
Nonetheless, review sites will not normally remove any reviews posted on their sites, unless those reviews somehow violate their own terms of service, such as containing vulgarity, personal threats, etc.
