greek or other myth about spiders?

sometime ago in a philosophy class, the professor said something about spiders being created by the union of two lovers, thus the eight legs, but I haven't been able to find this myth anywhere, I just find the one about Arachne and Athen, but this isn't it. Can anybody shed some light about the myth of a spider being the union of two lovers? Thanks.
