    It means Keeper of The Inn, lol! Just figure out how many Inn Keepers there was around the time your family began to use it. I bet you could trace it back to your family origins in whatever place your family is from. Good luck! Wish I could be of more help (Genealogy.com or FamilyTree.org might just do the trick).

    Wow I've never heard that last name before. My last name is really Hitler though, and there are several of us in Ohio. We're not related to the infamous one though we were in the USA before he was even born.
